Entrepreneurs Panel

New to Sikholars 2013 was our first “entrepreneurs panel.”  After discussion in years past we decided to create a fresh avenue to highlight entrepreneurial talents within the community.  Every year we hope to showcase some of the most innovative Sikhs that are putting their creative energies to use.  This year we are highlighting three tech professionals that have experience in creating startups and will share some of their insights, inspirations, experiences, visions of tech futures, and opportunities and perspectives of being Sikhs in their fields.

We are extremely excited to host:

Narinder Singh

As the President of the topcoder community and Chief Strategy Officer at Appirio, Narinder is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy, technology and crowdsourcing initiatives. A co-founder of Appirio, Narinder brings more than 15 years of software and business experience and plays a key role in keeping Appirio at the forefront of cloud, social and mobile technology. Prior to Appirio, Narinder worked at SAP in the Office of the CEO as a part of the Corporate Strategy Group. Working with the management board and other executives, Narinder led initiatives on sales, maintenance and competitive strategies, as well as potential business and technology disruptions. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Wharton School. Narinder also has worked with several non–profits on their development and supports a number of causes including the Miracle Foundation and Architecture for Humanity. He is the executive sponsor of Appirio’s Silver Lining program and serves on the board of the Sikh Coalition.  Follow him @SinghNS

Manpreet Singh

Manpreet Singh is Founder and President of Seva Call, a local search startup that connects searching consumers directly to live service-professionals in real time. His brother and Seva Call co-founder Gurpreet Singh first introduced him to start-up innovation during high school through a social networking site they worked on called Desi Vibes. Therefore, the themes of entrepreneurship, family and heritage have been influential forces throughout most of Manpreet’s life. Receiving his MBA from the Wharton School of Business in Entrepreneurship, Finance and Real Estate as well as a B.S. in Finance with a citation in Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland, College Park, Manpreet was recorded as one of the world’s youngest CFA Charter-holders.  Follow him @MSinghCFA.

Raj Singh

Raj is an experienced startup entrepreneur. His first startup, Togetherville, was acquired by the Walt Disney Company. At Disney, he served as Director of Product Management and now he’s working on his next venture. He graduated from LMU and Stanford with an engineering degree. Follow him @RajSinghTut
